Windsor Festival Exhibition

NEWS RELEASE 29 August 2008 Inside the Windsor Festival Local photographers, Doug Harding and Maureen McLean, were given an inside eye on last years Windsor Festival, 2007 and the result of this is the Windsor Festival Exhibition, a photographic reflection of this two week period. The Windsor Festival Exhibition is taking place in the Gallery at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts from Wednesday 17 September to Sunday 28 September. Windsor Festival is an annual festival taking place in September, a wonderful two weeks of delights with varied events across literature, music and with many interesting speakers, who last year included household names such as Charles Spencer, Marie Helvin and Colin Dexter. This exhibition of photographs reflects the full breadth of the festival, as Maureen and Doug of the Windsor Photographic Society were allowed into the Waterloo Chamber and St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, it brings some lovely unseen glimpses. The highlights of the festival for both Maureen and Doug were being able to visit those areas of Windsor castle normally restricted from the public and listening to the speakers such as the inspirational Colin Dexter, creator of Inspector Morse. The RAF band in the Waterloo Chamber playing War of the Worlds is a sight that sticks in their minds. Speakers such as supermodel Marie Helvin, who described her life with photographer David Bailey also caused a lasting impression. The evidence of their enjoyment and impressions can be viewed in the Windsor Festival Exhibition. The Windsor Festival Exhibition is in the Gallery from Wednesday 17 September – Sunday 28 September, 2pm – 10pm Tuesday – Friday and 10am – 10 pm Saturday – Sunday. Entry is free.
